The downloadable GeneLinker Gold and Platinum demonstration versions are for evaluation purposes only. During the import process and after certain experiments, some data are modified rendering any analyses that you perform with the demo versions meaningless. A registration dialog (containing a warning about the data modification) is also brought up periodically. The software is otherwise fully functional and should allow users to adequately evaluate all of the features.

The demo versions are both self-extracting executables and are both about 85MB in size. They are large files (since they contain all of the features of the regular version) so we recommend that you use a fast, reliable internet connection to download them. A dial-up connection will not work.

Once the download has completed, double click on the file to run it, and the installer will guide you through the installation steps.

System Requirements

GeneLinker requires a system that meets or exceeds the following specification:

• Microsoft Windows(R) 2000, XP, NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a, 95, 98, or ME. Windows 2000 and XP are recommended as they are more stable and manage memory more effectively.
• 256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM or greater recommended)
• Intel Celeron 600 MHz processor or better
• 500 MB hard disk space
• An internet connection (for external database links)
